Welcome to Year 4
Year 4 is a stimulating year where independence grows. High expectations enable children to take pride in their work and begin to critically assess their own writings.

This term, our theme is ‘Amazing Africa'. We will be heading into the African savanna to learn all about African animals in Science. We will be focusing on 'The Butterfly Lion' in guided reading and using it to create brilliant pieces of writing in English. We will be learning all about the diverse cultures of Africa, including focusing on different pieces of African music. In Geography, we will be focusing on Kenya and how it compares to the UK.
We are going to create our own African animal bunting in DT, compose African drumming pieces in Music and explore using different colours and patterns to create African artwork.
We will also be working hard on our Year Four class assembly where we invite you to join us on our adventure to 'Amazing Africa'.
