Autumn Term 2017
This term we are focusing on Space. We have been fascinated so far by looking at the phenomenon of our universe. We were greeted on our very first day back this term by the Explorer Dome which was a fantastic opportunity for us to experience space first hand.
We will be exploring space from many different aspects. Science will focus on the true knowledge we share of the solar system by looking at the phases of the moon and why we have night and day. Through Art we will be inspired by Peter Thorpe and use his work to produce our own interpretations. During Literacy we will be focusing on space suspense stories and writing non chronological reports about famous astronauts. We will also be looking at the history of space and how people have contradicting theories about visitors to planets in our solar system. PE will include a dance related to space actions that the children will be using in a contemporary fashion. There will be many opportunities for the children through other areas of the curriculum to fulfil their knowledge of space too.
