Pupil Groups

At Mitton Manor we have several Pupil Groups to provide pupils the opportunity to develop their roles as citizens and ambassadors of the school.

School Prefects at Mitton Manor Primary School

At Mitton Manor Primary School, we believe that prefects have a very important role to play in the day to day organisation of our school and as only Year Six pupils are allowed to apply for this position, it is considered to be very prestigious. The position not only allows the Year Six pupils to lead by example and demonstrate their responsibility, it also enables the younger children to learn from a good example.

The Prefects at Mitton Manor Primary School, must lead by example at all times in their behaviour, the respect they show to others and their school uniform.  A prefect’s role is varied and to be awarded a school prefect jumper is considered to be a real privilege.

" As prefects, we are role models to all students and our fellow prefects. We help to monitor behaviour during school and act as the ears and eyes for Miss Jones. We do our very best to understand your problems and be there to help. We are all clearly visible by the purple jumpers that we wear as part of our school uniform. "

Mitton Manor Librarians

Our School Librarians this year are:

Hannah Dyke       Evie Chambers

The librarians support children in choosing books, then maintain the library, run lunchtime clubs plus support the use of Junior Librarian monitoring system.

Our Eco Committee

As a school Eco Committee, we are passionate about working with the children and staff of Mitton Manor in making our school a more environmentally friendly place.

We set up projects and organise visits from people in the community to help us with what we would like to achieve. We love to get the whole school involved with our ideas and are always giving the children an opportunity to give their input on how we could improve.

Why not tell us how you would like to see your school become more environmentally friendly in the future? Look out for our eco mascot, Eric the Eco Fox, to find out who are representatives are and where they will be and let us know your thoughts!Recently, we teamed up with the School Council and worked hard with the whole school to improve our outdoor area! We had a fun day working together to create interesting pieces for our outdoor area, all made from recycled goods and things that had been donated.

Our School Council

Autumn 2017

Our School Council is a democratically elected group of children from Year 1 to 6 who are actively involved in the school’s development.

Meeting regularly, children discuss important issues relating to events that are organised in the school and present suggestions from their classes for school improvements.  This often requires organising meetings with the teaching staff.  They are often given extra responsibilities at school events and are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas when promoting out TEAM Mitton values.

Here are our School Councillors for this year

Year 1 –Ivy and Jack
